A major security breach has been reported that affects all of us.
NO actual company will ask you to do this in an e-mail…EVER. They may even use this security breach in the phishing e-mail as the reason you NEED to update the info. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!
The main thing to know is NEVER click on a link in an e-mail from ANY company asking you to update your personal information. The links embedded in phishing e-mails may lead you to a site that looks very much like your bank, credit card or retailer website, but is actually a data collection tool for hackers. They can also lead you to a site that will automatically upload various malware to your computer.
NEVER click on a link to go to a trusted site. Type it in or use your bookmarks. Delete the phishing e-mail without clicking any links.
